'Rescuing [my dog] saved my life': Woman shares how adopting her wholesome dog saved her from homelessness and made her a better person, the happy ending warmed hearts across the online canine community

It's no secret we love dogs around here. Most of us are even dog pawrents, who adopted a fluffy friend on four into the family. But usually, the dogs' adoption stories are of rescuing the dog. Sometimes from a shelter, other times from the street, and in more serious cases - even from a previous owner who was a bad human. All of these dog adoption stories are common, but sometimes, on some rare occasions, the dog rescues the person just as much as the person rescues the dog.

Such a story was shared by a woman who indeed rescued her sweet Labrador, by adopting her as a puppy from a homeless lady who couldn't take care of her. Despite being homeless herself at the time, the woman describes how adopting the Labrador pup helped her get out of the blackest of holes, into a better present, and hopefully an even more successful future. It's kind of amazing to think about how dogs can be such a motivational catalyst for people. Dogs help us better our lives, whether you're in a dark place or not. They just make it better.

Sharing this wholesome story, of the dog and her hooman uplifting each other, did not fly under the radar of the online canine community. People expressed how moved they are by knowing this special connection between the hooman and her dog. Who saved whom, really? It seems obvious that both of these girls, hooman and dog, saved each other. they both won a lifelong friend who uplifts them for a better future.

We already know the story has a happy ending, but when you see the pictures of this absolutely thrilled dog, full of joy, you know it's true. When a dog is happy, it both means he has a happy life, and that they make their hooman's life happier as well. Dogs have that joy power we cannot understand, but that we appreciate very much.

We definitely relate to that desire to have the dog understand how loved they are. Like this hooman wishes she could read all the kind comments and that her dog would understand - we wish we could tell our dogs how sure they can be in how loved and appreciated they are.
